Through a series of creative online workshops, Haughton Academy have produced lyrics and music inspired by The ‘Skerne. This will be premiered by Opera North in a performance on 7th November 2021

Over the upcoming year, Jo Howell and Emma Biggins will be working with local families to create an enchanting treasure trail and adventure guide. We hope to inspire people to explore and celebrate our beautiful landscape and rich heritage

The famous Durham Ox gets a makeover from 300 local school children.

The Brightwater area has a varied and fascinating past, from Romans, Saxons, Prince Bishops, The birth of the Railways, the story of the Aycliffe Angles during WW2, to the development of Newton Aycliffe as a post war New Town.

Together with our friends at Hardwick Park and Groundwork North East and Cumbria we are going to create a fun and exciting wooden sculpture trail.
