About the foundation
Darlington South Park Foundation are a group of volunteers who want to strategically and actively improve South Park.
Funded through the Big Lottery, Heritage Lottery Fund and Nesta, the programme aims to look at what skills businesses can contribute through volunteering towards enhancing the South Park, North Park and the Denes.
What the funds will be used for
Last year Darlington South Park Foundation requested a grant to create an A3 leaflet with information about the group and how to get involved. This will also fold out to include an updated map of the park and suggested walking routes around the area.
Once printed they plan to have this distributed to key locations in Darlington to showcase their beautiful park, raise their profile, encourage new visitors and let people know how they can get involved. Some of the funds will also be used to pay for promotional activity in the park, such as a guided walk or a story telling event to launch the leaflet and to promote the foundation.
An important aim for the foundation is to recruit more volunteers who can help implement all of the fantastic ideas they have to improve and enhance this well loved and popular park.
Plans are currently on hold due to the current circumstances but we’ll update this page as soon as we have any further news.
