It’s now February 2021 and we’re soon approaching one whole year of lockdown restrictions!
We’ve walked, jumped with Joe Wicks, clapped for our carers and attended so many Zoom quizzes, we’re now ready to take on the Chaser.
We have decided to start planning Christmas early this year. It’s now only 323 days until Christmas and we have a super-exciting competition for the kids of Brightwater.
Do your children enjoy drawing? Then we have the perfect challenge!
Enter our Christmas Card Competition and your child’s design could become one of our official Discover Brightwater Cards. Please read below
House Rules
All designs should be handmade on A4 paper
(we’re are not looking for digital images, unfortunately)
The design should relate to our local area* with a festive twist! You could draw some of our wonderful wildlife, a local landmark or your favourite park, covered with snow.
Maybe there’s a special hidden treasure you’ve discovered that not many people know about? The possibilities are endless!
Categories
The competition is open from ages 3 to 16 and there are four age categories;
3-6
7-10
11-13
14-16
There will be a winner in each of the four categories. The chosen designs will be used to make up the Discover Brightwater Christmas card collection for 2021, which will be a combination of printed and e-cards.
Entry
Send a picture of your artwork to info@discoverbrightwater.com with the name and age group of your budding artist. You can also tag us on Social Media #DiscoverBrightwater
We ask that you keep a copy of the original artwork as we may need these if you are one of our chosen winners.
The closing date for entries is 1st March 2021
It would be fantastic if you could take photos or videos of what you’re doing and tag us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using #DiscoverBrightwater
Winners
The winners will be announced later this year and the winning designs will be published before Christmas 2021.
All winners will receive 50 copies of their card design, a craft hamper and a £30 gift voucher to spend with a local business of your choice*
The winning designs will feature on Discover Brightwater website and social media and possibly local press.
The winning collection of cards will be used by Discover Brightwater and partners.
*The Brightwater patch includes the areas around the River Skerne – North from Darlington past the towns and villages of Newton Aycliffe, Sedgefield, Bishop Middleham, Fishburn and the Trimdons via Hurworth Burn Reservoir.
