THE GREAT OUTDOORS

We’re cleaning up our act…
The River Skerne was once Europe’s 7th most polluted river. Not any more!

Much has been done to improve the water quality and Discover Brightwater and partners are busy recreating wetland habitats, fens, and carrs (Viking for ‘boggy woods’).

We know not everyone can volunteer so you’re welcome to download our free adventure guides. We have designed a range of walks around Brightwater suitable for all ages.
